A Walk Through Your Neighborhood:

Picture a walk through your neighborhood before the waves of gentrification swept through,

before the removal of poorer residents through soaring living costs. What did you see? For

many of us, it was a landscape dominated by businesses owned by others, with delis, Chinese

food stores, and liquor stores outnumbering those owned by black or Latino entrepreneurs. It’s

a reality that reflects a history of systemic barriers and economic inequality.
